Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Phase II of KCI 29 Logistics Park Improvements Project

For immediate release: Thursday, November 6, 2025

Kansas City will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM to celebrate the completion of phase II of the KCI 29 Logistics Park Improvement Project. This phase involved extending the roadway on N Mexico City Avenue, from the limits of the first phase at NW 132nd Street to the new NW 136th Street. The expansion also runs east, connecting NW 136th Street to N Winan Avenue. This new addition increases access to the 200-acre KCI Logistics Park facility and the KCI area.

When: Friday, November 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Where: N Mexico City Avenue and NW 136th Street in the closed lanes (route to N Mexico City Avenue and NW 136th Street and continue driving northbound)

Parking: The closed lane at N Mexico City Avenue & NW 136th Street

Agenda: Remarks will be delivered by 1st District Councilman Kevin O'Neill, City Manager Mario Vasquez, Transportation Director Jason Waldron and Port KC Director of Communications Meredith Hoenes. A ribbon cutting ceremony will follow those remarks.

Project Includes:

  • Three, 12-foot lanes for southbound traffic on N Mexico City Avenue from NW 132nd Street to NW 136th Street
  • Two, 12-foot lanes for northbound traffic, with accommodations for a third lane, on Mexico City Avenue from NW 132nd Street to NW 136th Street
  • One 12-foot lane for eastbound traffic on NW 136th Street to N Winan Avenue
  • One 12-foot lane for westbound traffic on NW 136th Street to N Winan Avenue
  • One 12-foot lane center turn lane on NW 136th Street to N Winan Avenue
  • Sidewalks and curbs
  • Gutters and storm sewers
