Democratic Party of Oregon Statement on Governor Tina Kotek Becoming the Democratic Nominee in Oregon

Portland, OR - Democratic Party of Oregon Chair Nathan Soltz issued the following statement as Governor Tina Kotek successfully secures the Democratic nomination for governor:

"The Democratic Party of Oregon is proud to support Governor Tina Kotek as the Democratic nominee for governor.

"Over the past four years, Governor Kotek has demonstrated her dedication to tackling the issues that matter most to Oregonians. From reducing homelessness by creating Oregon's first statewide shelter program, to lowering healthcare costs by championing legislation that reduces prescription drug prices, Governor Kotek has continuously put Oregon first.

"Governor Kotek has also been stalwart in defending Oregon from Trump's reckless and harmful agenda, working with the Attorney General to block Trump's deployment of the National Guard to Oregon and repeatedly striking down his illegal tariffs.

"As we look towards November, voters will have a choice between a Republican nominee that will open the door to Trump's agenda in Oregon, or an experienced leader with a proven track record of defending our state. The choice is clear."
