MILWAUKEE - Aaron Lipski, chief of the Milwaukee Fire Department, will be the special guest for the next installment of the Marquette University Law School Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education's "Get To Know" program series on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 12:15 p.m. at Eckstein Hall, 1215 W. Michigan St.
Derek Mosley, director of the Lubar Center, hosts the "Get To Know" series. Registration is available online for this free public event. Media wishing to attend should contact Kevin Conway at [email protected].
To celebrate Fire Safety Month, the Lubar Center will welcome Lipski, who has dedicated more than 25 years of service to the City of Milwaukee. He has served the Milwaukee Fire Department in just about every way and is a fourth-generation firefighter. The conversation will discuss Lipski's background, his approach to prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment, and his goals in addressing the challenges and opportunities involved in keeping Milwaukee residents safe.
Mosley has served as Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education director since 2023. Under his leadership, the Law School's Lubar Center has expanded its programming to include sessions during Black History Month and on unconscious bias, as well as Heritage Dinners in the community. A 1995 graduate of Marquette Law School, Mosley served as a judge of the Milwaukee Municipal Court for 20 years.
Through public programming such as the Marquette Law School Poll, "On the Issues" conversations with newsmakers, public lectures by leading scholars, conferences on issues of public significance, and the work of its Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education, Marquette Law School seeks to advance civil discourse about law and public policy matters.
