Senator Warren Statement on New Lawsuit Against Vought's Illegal Plan to Starve the CFPB of Funding

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren, Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released the following statement on the new lawsuit filed against the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau over Acting Director Russ Vought's illegal, fringe funding plan:

"The Trump Administration is already under one federal court order not to shut down the CFPB. Now it's facing a new lawsuit over Russ Vought's illegal plan to starve the agency of any funding, just hours after former Fed officials publiclyshredded his theory. If courts follow the law, they'll continue rejecting these ridiculous efforts to make it easier to cheat American families."
