Master Plan Survey Results

In 2025, Alpena County and its participating municipalities launched a countywide public engagement survey to help shape the vision, goals, strategies, and land use recommendations for the City of Alpena and all municipalities within Alpena County.

Survey results were published earlier this year and the City of Alpena Draft Master Plan is ready for review; the plan can be found on the City's website. A hard copy of the plan can be found at the City of Alpena's Planning office, located in the basement of City Hall at 208 N First Avenue.

The City of Alpena would also like your feedback on a proposed vision statement for the Alpena Area. Vision statements were drafted based on community feedback in the Master Plan survey.

Feedback on the vision statement and plan can be submitted on the City's website; hard copies can also be submitted at City Hall.

Tentative Planning Commission Public Hearing Date: January 12, 2027
