Undersecretary Dell’Utri took part in the Fulbright Annual Meeting

The Fulbright Annual Meeting, a yearly event dedicated to the Fulbright Program and academic cooperation between Italy and the United States, took place today, June 30, at the Foreign Ministry. The meeting was attended by Fulbright students and research fellows, Program Alumni, representatives of the Fulbright Commission, the U.S. Embassy, and representatives of Italian and American academia.

The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Massimo Dell'Utri, opened the institutional session, emphasizing the value of cultural, scientific, and academic exchanges as fundamental tools for strengthening bilateral relations between Italy and the United States. Other speakers were Marta Youth, Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S. Embassy in Rome; Paola Sartorio, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission; Giuliano Amato, President Emeritus of the Constitutional Court and Fulbright Alumnus; and alumni and fellows of the Program. The new Fulbright scholarship recipients were also presented during the day.

Active in Italy since 1948, the Fulbright Program is one of the main instruments of cultural diplomacy between Italy and the United States. Since its inception, it has enabled approximately 14,000 Italian and U.S. citizens to undertake study, research, and teaching experiences in the two countries, thus contributing to strengthening bilateral academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation. The Program is jointly funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the U.S. Department of State.
