SubscribeOur Head of Talent Engagement, Jeremy Chou, shares more on Zscaler's Internship Program, that is built on continuous learning and collaboration.
As we transition from summer to fall, you can feel a different kind of energy buzzing through our virtual calls and office halls. It's a mix of excitement, a little sadness, and a whole lot of pride. We recently said goodbye to our summer interns in People & Culture, and I want to take time to reflect on the incredible journey we just shared.
Real Work, Real Impact
When we bring interns to Zscaler, the goal isn't just to teach; it's to have them contribute from day one. Our interns jump straight into business-critical projects, diving headfirst into the challenges at the core of our mission.
This summer, we watched interns ship code that is now part of the Zscaler platform, protecting real customers. We saw them develop marketing analytics that will shape our future campaigns. They weren't just learning aboutthe business-they were actively helping to build the future of cybersecurity. For a student, the opportunity to see your work have that kind of tangible impact is the ultimate launchpad for a career.
Growth Is a Two-Way Street
We talk a lot about what interns learn from us. They're paired with dedicated mentors, they get exposure to leaders, and they build skills that will last a lifetime. But here's the secret that makes our program so special: we learn just as much from them.
Our interns arrived with a powerful curiosity that shook up our routines. They challenged our assumptions by asking, "Have we ever thought about doing it this way?" They introduced new ideas from their coursework, pushing seasoned colleagues to see problems through a fresh lens.
There's nothing more energizing than seeing a senior engineer and an intern huddled together, brainstorming on a whiteboard, both completely absorbed in solving a problem. That's where the magic happens. It's a powerful reminder that growth isn't a one-way street, and a great idea can come from anyone, whether you've been here for a decade or just a few weeks.
What's Next?
As we say goodbye to this year's intern cohort, we're celebrating the connections we've made and the new perspectives they've brought to our teams. They leave with new skills and a network, but they also leave Zscaler a smarter, more innovative company.
To all the students looking to start their careers with purpose: we're building a place where you won't just learn, you'll contribute. And we can't wait to learn from you, too.
