Aries Akins Inducted Into International Nursing Honor Society

Lincoln University of Missouri nursing student was inducted into the Alpha Iota Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Aries Akins was formally inducted into the Alpha Iota Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) on Thursday, November 6, 2025, during a ceremony held in Columbia, Missouri.

Akins joins a global community of nurse leaders recognized for excellence, scholarship and commitment to advancing healthcare. Her induction reflects outstanding academic achievement and dedication to the nursing profession.

Founded in 1922 by six nursing students, Sigma has grown into one of the world's largest and most influential nursing honor societies. The organization boasts more than 100,000 active members across 600 chapters in higher education institutions and healthcare organizations spanning continents - from Armenia, Australia and Botswana to Thailand, the United States and Wales.

Sigma's diverse membership includes clinical nurses, administrators, academic educators, researchers, policymakers and entrepreneurs, all working toward the organization's mission of fostering connected and empowered nurse leaders who can transform global healthcare.
