Meeting of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Harry Theoharis with the Director-General of the Reconstruction and Development Fund of Libya, Belgasem Haftar (Athens, 08.09.2025)
On September 8, 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Harry Theoharis, met with the Director-General of the Reconstruction and Development Fund of Libya, Belgasem Haftar.
Both sides reaffirmed the positive climate with regard to relations between Athens and Benghazi, as well as their willingness to cooperate on the reconstruction and development of the wider Benghazi region. The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs hosted a working lunch for the Libyan delegation, led by Mr. Belgasem Haftar, during which the possibility of a business mission to Benghazi in autumn was discussed, including Greek companies that have shown tangible interest in relevant investments.
