Funding will support the project team's small-scale research and development of a partial ionization plasma centrifuge technology to address tritium burn efficiency in fusion energy devices. Specifically, the project team will (1) test and validate initial centrifuge operation for velocity, separation of materials, duration of operation, and stability, (2) verify results and compare to modeled outcomes, (3) conduct operational testing to achieve higher metrics based on outcomes of analytical models, (4) implement equipment upgrades to achieve higher operational outputs, (5) test and validate final centrifuge operation and outcomes.
