Flock Hit Leads to Arrest
FRISCO, TX - A Flock license plate reader (LPR) alert led to the arrest of a suspect in a stolen vehicle investigation.
On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at approximately 7:47 a.m., Frisco Police received an Automated License Plate Reader alert regarding a stolen vehicle near the intersection of Stonebrook Parkway and Dallas Parkway.
Officers responded to the area, located the reported stolen vehicle, and attempted a traffic stop, which resulted in a brief pursuit. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot in the 7100 block of Fieldstone Way. Officers quickly established a perimeter and deployed the Frisco PD K9 Unit, Frisco PD Drone Unit, and requested assistance from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Air Support to search the area.
At approximately 10:25 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7100 block of Fieldstone Drive after receiving information that the suspect had barricaded himself inside his family's home. No other individuals were inside the residence. Frisco PD SWAT and Negotiators were activated and responded to the scene. At approximately 12:34 p.m., the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Nima Ghani, was taken into custody without incident.
Ghani is being charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, a State Jail Felony; Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, a Third-Degree Felony; Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor; and Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 1 or 1-B, a State Jail Felony.
There is no further danger to the public. The investigation remains active.
