Supplier Showcase focus: Modernizing safety I&C

The American Nuclear Society is hosting a Supplier Showcase webinar, "Modernizing Safety I&C: Practical Strategies and a Path Forward for Analog and Digital Systems," on Wednesday, September 16, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. CDT.

The webinar is free for all viewers and requires registration.

Details: "Modernizing Safety I&C" will feature industry experts from Framatome, who will share a comparison of analog and digital safety instrumentation and control (I&C) upgrade paths.

To that end, listeners will learn the following:

  • When analog solutions provide the simplest and lowest-impact upgrade approach.
  • Where digital modernization offers measurable efficiency, scalability, or life cycle benefits.
  • How to evaluate project risk, licensing considerations, and long-term supportability.
  • How both approaches can be applied effectively, depending on plant strategy and system needs.

The speakers: The talk will be led by two speakers from Framatome: Ryan Reynolds, the I&C manager of product development and life cycle maintenance, and Erica Hindle, an I&C safety system software engineer.

Reynolds has led multidisciplinary engineering teams in developing and qualifying new digital and analog products, including advanced rod control power electronics. Hindle's work at Framatome has focused on the TXS Compact and Hardline systems for I&C safety applications.
