JVIS today announced the acquisition of the Toledo Molding & Die (TMD) operations in Tiffin and Bowling Green, Ohio, through its affiliate company, TNJ Ohio, LLC d/b/a JVIS Ohio.
The acquisition supports the continuation of more than 600 manufacturing jobs across Northwest Ohio, including the Tiffin and Bowling Green communities. The acquisition also establishes JVIS' first manufacturing operations in Ohio and expands the company's capabilities across automotive interior systems, engineered plastics, molding, and assembly operations supporting major OEM production programs.
TMD has long been recognized as a major employer in the Northwest Ohio region, serving as a global Tier 1 and Tier 2 full-service supplier of interior and air/fluid management systems. The company's product lines include molding, assembly and sequencing of interior components and molding and assembly of a variety of air induction, powertrain cooling, front end module, washer, and HVAC systems.
"This acquisition represents an important milestone for JVIS as we establish our first manufacturing operations in Ohio," said David Robinson, Vice President of External Affairs for JVIS. "TMD brings experienced employees, strong customer relationships, and manufacturing capabilities that align extremely well with our long-term strategy and operational approach. We are excited to build upon that foundation and continue supporting customers from these facilities."
The Regional Growth Partnership, in collaboration with Seneca County Collaborative and Bowling Green Economic Development, worked closely with JVIS in facilitating meetings at the two Northwest Ohio facilities and providing critical research and data for the region. JVIS is working closely alongside those entities and JobsOhio on incentives to secure a long-term commitment to the area. Any approved incentives will be made public after agreements are approved and executed.
"JVIS' acquisition of the Bowling Green and Tiffin facilities demonstrates the confidence it has in Ohio's exceptional automotive talent," said Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. "This investment will maintain the proven workforce at both plants, keeping those families, their communities, and JVIS on track for future success."
Located in the heart of the North American automotive marketplace, Northwest Ohio has established itself as a leading area for manufacturing and production within the industry. Over the last five years, companies in Northwest Ohio's automotive sector have created more than 3,600 new jobs while investing nearly $2.2 billion. Evidence to that, the Gross Regional Product for the automotive industry in Northwest Ohio is $5.4 billion, representing 31% of the state total.
"Retaining 629 highly skilled manufacturing jobs in Tiffin and Bowling Green is a significant win for Northwest Ohio, where JVIS recognizes the strength of the automotive industry and a deep, experienced workforce," said JobsOhio President and CEO J.P. Nauseef. "This outcome reflects exactly how Ohio's economic development model is built to work, with state, regional and local leaders working in lockstep alongside a leading automotive supplier to deliver certainty for employers and stability for communities."
JVIS plans to leverage its capabilities across engineering, tooling, molding, validation, manufacturing, assembly, and sequencing to support operational continuity and continued customer responsiveness.
The company's global manufacturing and engineering capabilities support leading automotive brands through a combination of design, engineering, manufacturing, and assembly expertise.
"JVIS has built its reputation on being fast, flexible, and responsive to the needs of our customers," said Jason Murar, President of JVIS. "This acquisition strengthens our manufacturing footprint and expands our ability to deliver high-quality automotive interior and plastics solutions while continuing to support our OEM partners."
JVIS stated that its immediate focus will remain on operational continuity, customer support, employee transition efforts, and long-term manufacturing stability across the acquired operations.
