No Traffic Controls & Temporary Pass Updates

Alpine County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will not conduct traffic controls in Alpine County next week.

State Route 4

• The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has a temporary road closure in place on State Route 4 (Ebbetts Pass). The eastbound closure is set at Lake Alpine, and the westbound closure is set at Raymond Meadows. Caltrans will be RE-OPENING Ebbetts Pass on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 12:00 p.m.

State Route 89

• The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) re-opened State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) on Tuesday, November 25, at 12:00 p.m. Caltrans urges motorists to continue using caution and watch for icy road surfaces in the overnight and early morning hours, a reminder that all vehicles must carry chains, and please #DontCrowdThePlow.
