On October 1, 2025 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Sekreta, met with the Deputy Director of the Regional Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Klaus Beck, during his working visit to Minsk.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of UNFPA projects in Belarus and current issues of cooperation.
Igor Sekreta outlined the priorities of Belarus' demographic policy and the measures being taken in the country to improve the demographic situation.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of aligning UNFPA's work with the needs and requests of states and expressed interest in developing cooperation with the Fund under the UNFPA Country Programme for Belarus for 2026-2030, which correlates with the country's national interests.
Klaus Beck gave a positive assessment of the current state of cooperation between UNFPA and Belarus and confirmed his readiness to contribute to addressing priority issues for the Belarusian side in the field of population.
