Northern Michigan University's DeVos Art Museum is showcasing two exhibitions: the annual NMU School of Art & Design Senior Exhibition, which concludes with a closing ceremony from 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 1; and "Celebrating Legacy: Lake Superior Art Association in the Permanent Collection," in honor of the LSAA's 75th anniversary. Admission to the museum is free.
The NMU School of Art & Design Senior Exhibition will highlight capstone art projects from graduating seniors. This semester, the exhibition features ceramics, digital cinema, graphic design, illustration, metalworking and jewelry, painting and drawing, and photography.
The artists and designers include Madison Buszka, Clara Chambers, Livia Ganley, Katelyn Ginger, Aubrey Huddleston, Victoria Iporre Buitrago, Savannah Johnson, Maggie Jordan, Lexi Klamer, Jane Konigsberg, Gianna Madero, Molly Mannot, Paige Miller, Lex Roach, Elliott Smith, Will Voss, Elyse Wejrowski, Aila Weycker, Taryn Whitney and Breeze Wojciechowsk.
The LSAA is the longest-running arts organization in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In celebration of its legacy, the DeVos Art Museum is hosting an exhibition that brings together past and present LSAA members from the museum's permanent collection who were creating in a variety of media including ceramics, sculpture, photography, printmaking, collage, textile and painting. The artwork offers glimpses into their observations and experiences of everyday life expressed through abstract, representational and functional forms.

Museum hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m. Thursday.
