U.S. News Ranks UToledo Among 2026 Best Online Degree Programs

The University of Toledo's online offerings are among the best in the United States.

U.S. News & World Report released its list of 2026 Best Online Programs on Tuesday, Jan. 27, with UToledo ranked in the top half of online bachelor's degree programs at No. 141.

UToledo is ranked in the top half of online bachelor's degree programs in U.S. News & World Report's 2026 Best Online Programs.

UToledo also ranked for six online degree programs that the digital media company evaluates individually. That's each category in which the University is eligible by offering a corresponding undergraduate or graduate degree program.

In the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, UToledo's online bachelor's degree in business and online master's degree in business administration programs each outperformed two-thirds of programs evaluated by U.S. News. Each program advanced in this year's rankings to No. 73 and No. 107, respectively.

The Judith Herb College of Arts, Social Sciences and Education is home to the graduate education degree program that placed ahead of more than half of ranked programs at No. 133. And in the College of Engineering, the graduate engineering degree program ranked ahead of more than one-third of ranked programs at No. 64.

Finally, UToledo's online bachelor's degree programs for veterans ranked at No. 86.

"UToledo is proud to again be recognized among the best online colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report," said Dr. Mitchell McKinney, provost and executive vice president of academic affairs at UToledo. "Our extensive catalog of online and certificate programs reflects the same high quality that students expect on campus while bringing higher education goals within reach for a wide variety of students."

U.S. News' Best Online Programs are determined based on a variety of criteria, including graduation rates, faculty credentials and support services that are available remotely.

UToledo offers more than 50 online degrees and certificates and more than 60 online courses that are certified by Quality Matters (QM), indicating nationally recognized standards for structure, design and delivery of online and blended courses.

UToledo offers more QM-certified courses than just a handful of higher education institutions in the country. The University is currently tied for 19th among 292 institutions.
