The City of Santa Fe thanks everyone who joined our recent community engagement events on the proposed living wage. Your input is helping shape a plan that keeps Santa Fe diverse, equitable, and affordable for residents and workers.

If you haven't shared your thoughts yet, this is your last chance-the community survey closes tomorrow, Friday, October 10, 2025. Take a few minutes today to make sure your voice is heard.

Key Points of the Proposed Ordinance

-Raise the living wage to $17.50 an hour after a one-year evaluation.

-Maintain existing provisions for tipped workers, Medicaid-dependent nonprofits, and health and childcare benefits.

-Tie annual increases to both inflation (Western CPI) and local housing costs (HUD Fair Market Rent), capped at 5 percent per year.

-Establish Santa Fe as the first U.S. city to link a living wage directly to housing costs.

Click here to take the survey now! Your feedback will help guide the City's next steps on this important policy.
