Shooting in the Buckman Neighborhood Leaves 1 Man Deceased, Homicide Detectives Investigating

A shooting in the Buckman Neighborhood has left one man deceased, and Portland Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the case.

On Saturday August 29, 2026 at 2:34 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Southeast 12th Avenue. When officers arrived, they located one victim deceased on a sidewalk.
The suspect or suspects left the scene before police arrived and no immediate arrests were made.
The Portland Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is investigating the case. During the investigation, Southeast 12th Avenue is closed between Southeast Morrison Street and Southeast Alder Street. Southeast Morrison Street is closed between Southeast 11th Avenue and Southeast 12th Avenue.
