On the visit of the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Singapore

On June 22, 2026, as part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov to the Republic of Singapore, a series of high-level meetings and events took place in Singapore.

In particular, during the meeting with Dilhan Pillay Sandrasegara, Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Holdings, it was noted that the company's extensive experience in global investment markets and its long-term development-oriented approach are in line with the economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan. Views were also exchanged on the potential for practical cooperation across a number of areas.

During the talks with Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment of Singapore, issues of cooperation in combating climate change, green economy, and efficient water resource management were discussed. Singapore's advanced experience in ensuring environmental sustainability and introducing innovative approaches was noted.

During the visit, negotiations were held with Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore, including the expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, as well as current regional and international issues. Particular attention was paid to maintaining high-level dialogue, preparations for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027, and the advancement of visits at various levels.

In addition, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan met with Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore. During the meeting, the greetings and best wishes of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev were conveyed. The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in economic development, innovation, education, digital transformation, finance, and human capital. Views were also exchanged on strengthening practical cooperation in these areas.

A roundtable discussion was also held at the Singapore Business Federation with representatives of leading business circles and major companies of the country. The event brought together executives and representatives of Wilmar International, Indorama Corporation, Singapore Technologies Engineering, Meta, Franklin Templeton, StoneX, Meinhardt, Quest Ventures, Investbanq, Global Finance & Technology Network, TASCA, and other companies. Discussions focused on prospects for implementing joint projects in artificial intelligence, venture capital, data processing centers, smart cities, digital infrastructure, and education. Representatives of Singapore's business community highly appreciated Uzbekistan's ongoing economic reforms, efforts to create a favorable investment climate, develop the digital economy, expand industrial cooperation, and introduce advanced technologies.
