This program serves as a platform to honor exceptional safety leadership and share innovative practices that inspire the entire industry. The individuals nominated set the standard for workplace safety by implementing effective measures, advocating for safety education, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Sarah Cardell received a shining nomination from American Services colleague Amanda Sledge. Cardell's commitment to safety across railroad, environmental, and hazmat operations is evident through her proactive approaches to mitigate risk before incidences occur.

Sledge highlighted Cardell's impact, stating, "[Her] ability to stay calm and take control during high-risk situations-such as emergency response, hazardous material handling, or active rail environments-ensures the safety of both personnel and surrounding operations." Her safety leadership includes mentoring coworkers on proper PPE, safe equipment operation, and compliance with site-specific and regulatory requirements.

Taking initiative to improve safety practices is a strength of Cardell's. She regularly recommends solutions to enhance efficiency while maintaining strict safety standards. Her consistent attention to detail, accountability, and leadership sets a "Gold Star" example for the entire team and reflects the core values of American Services LLC.

These efforts directly contribute to preventing incidents, protecting employees, and maintaining compliance in high-risk environments. "By proactively identifying hazards, mentoring others, and taking decisive action during critical situations, [Sarah] helps reduce risk, improve operational safety, and strengthen the overall safety culture," said Sledge. Cardell's leadership not only protects the team but also ensures work is completed efficiently and responsibly.
