When you meet Isabelle, the first thing you'll notice is her warmth, the kind of genuine, friendly energy that instantly makes you feel welcome.
As a student recruitment representative with the Recruitment C.R.E.W. (Connect, Relate, Engage, and Welcome) at Concordia University Texas, she's passionate about people, community, and faith, and it shows in everything she does. Whether she's walking across campus, greeting familiar faces, or sharing her story, Isabelle radiates joy and purpose.
"Bringing people together. Creating community. Talking about how Jesus has changed my life and can change yours too," she says with a smile.
For Isabelle, these aren't just passions, they're part of who she is. She loves that her work and daily life allow her to do all those things. "One of my favorite parts about Concordia is how friendly everyone is. Almost every person I pass, I smile at them, wave, and ask how their day is going. That's the kind of community Concordia has created."
Isabelle grew up in Colorado, a place she still proudly calls home. She laughs about how people always ask if she's chased bears (she's only chased one!) or what the snow is like. But she'll also tell you that moving to Texas was a huge change.
"In Colorado, people tend to keep to themselves. When I came to Texas, everyone wanted to talk, to connect. It was a culture shock, but a good one." She had to learn how to open up, make small talk, and embrace the friendliness that defines southern hospitality. "I'll never say 'y'all,'" she jokes, "but I've learned to really love the people here."
When asked what she wants others to know about her, Isabelle doesn't talk about titles or achievements. Instead, she shares, "I just want people to see that I'm an ordinary person who's been with Jesus." For her, everything, her joy, her purpose, her strength, comes from Him. "Christ is the reason I'm here, the reason I can do anything, and the reason I am who I am."
Isabelle's story is a reminder that real leadership is about walking with others, living with faith, sharing joy, and building community one genuine smile at a time.
