The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a hybrid public information meeting concerning the culvert replacement carrying Route 201 over Ashwillet Brook in North Stonington on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at theNorth Stonington Education Center at 298 Norwich-Westerly Rd. in North Stonington.The meeting location is ADA accessible. The virtual option will be held on Zoom, and registration is required to attend online. To register, please visit portal.ct.gov/DOTNorthStonington0101-0119.
The public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project.A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.
"This project will replace an existing deteriorated twin corrugated metal pipe culvert and improve roadway drainage and safety in the project limits," said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Joseph Arsenault. "We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design."
Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed improvements include partial acquisitions, slope easements, and rights.
Construction is anticipated to begin spring 2029 based on the availability of funding, acquisition of rights of way, and approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $5 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.
