Mark your calendars-Metro is throwing a celebration you won't want to miss! Join us for ROCK THE RAILS, a four-station community extravaganza featuring live music, DJs, local food favorites, and an unbeatable neighborhood vibe.

We're celebrating the grand opening of four brand-new A Line stations in Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne/Fairplex, and Pomona North. Stations officially open to the public at 12 p.m., but the party starts at 11:30 a.m.-and each stop has something unique to offer. Come taste, dance, connect, and celebrate this historic expansion that brings Metro service even closer to where you live, work, study, and play.

A Bigger, Better A Line-Now in the San Gabriel Valley

Metro has extended the A Line 9.1 miles east of Azusa, reaching deeper into the San Gabriel Valley with these new stations:

  • Glendora

  • San Dimas

  • La Verne/Fairplex

  • Pomona North

This milestone makes Metro's A Line the longest light rail line in the world, now stretching from Pomona to Long Beach-connecting riders from biology class to the beach, and everywhere in between.

Why This Matters

This extension is more than just new stops-it's a game-changer for mobility in the region. The new stations:

  • Connect more communities to Metro's regional transit system

  • Provide a transfer-free ride across Los Angeles

  • Help reduce traffic and support sustainable transportation

  • Expand access to colleges, job centers, cultural destinations, and more

With 19 nearby college campuses and destinations like Glendora Village, Raging Waters, the Fairplex, and the Fox Theater, there's now a shorter distance between you and where you want to be.

Seamless Connections

At Pomona North Station, riders can easily transfer from the Metrolink San Bernardino Line to the A Line-opening up direct access from San Bernardino to Pasadena, Union Station, Highland Park, Arts District, Little Tokyo, and all the way to Downtown Long Beach, Santa Monica, and even LAX.

Affordable for Everyone

Metro offers several reduced fare programs to keep public transit accessible:

  • U-Pass - for college/university students

  • GoPass - for K-12 and community college students

  • Senior Reduced Fares - for older adults (62+)

  • LIFE Program - for income-eligible riders

  • Employer Pass Programs - for participating workplaces

Easy Transfers with Foothill Transit

Metro has partnered with Foothill Transit to ensure smooth connections to the new stations:

  • Glendora - Line 284

  • San Dimas - Lines 295, 492

  • La Verne/Fairplex - Line 197

  • Pomona North - Lines 291, 492
