Airport Art Show (Oct. 14) and STEAM Festival (Oct. 18)

  • Art Show: Tuesday Oct. 14 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring tail livery art by Murfreesboro City School students. The art show will highlight 65 pieces of art created by Murfreesboro City Schools 5th grade students who hone their artistic talents.
  • STEAM Festival: Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn how airplanes fly and what the Murfreesboro Airport does for the surrounding community.

The list of participants in the Murfreesboro Airport STEAM Festival event include:

  • 101st Airborne: AH-64 Drone Division
  • Veterans of Foreign Wars: showcasing how to get involved with the local post and serve your veterans
  • TN Army Nation Guard: UH-60 Blackhawk
  • Middle Tennessee State University: jet and piston engines on display to see all the inner workings of the engine and show off the aircraft that train future airline pilots and drone operators
  • Murfreesboro City Police: Law Enforcement Technology
  • Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue: Ladder 6
  • Vanderbilt LifeFlight: see one of their active service medical evac helicopters

Thanks to our sponsors, the airport is able to offer hotdogs, chips, and bottled water to all who participate in the educational opportunities (while supplies last).
