PHILADELPHIA (October 1, 2025) - On Energy Efficiency Day, PECO is highlighting the impact of its award-winning energy efficiency programs, which have paid out more than half a billion dollars in rebates and incentives to customers since they were established in 2009. Since inception, more than $570 million has been awarded to help customers reduce their energy use, which helps customers save on their energy bills and is aligned with the company's Path to Clean commitment to support customers in their efforts to reduce their environmental impact.

PECO's programs provide opportunities for all customers to lower their energy bills and reduce their environmental impact - from homeowners to renters, to large and small businesses, and to those with limited incomes. The incentives have helped customers reduce their energy use by more than 5.9 billion kWh, which is enough energy to power more than 550,000 homes for one year or effectively avoiding nearly 3.6 million tons of carbon emissions.

PECO's energy efficiency programs offer several tools to help customers save money on their energy bills, promote energy efficiency, and reduce emissions, including:

  • Rebates for replacing older, inefficient appliances, and heating and cooling equipment with new high efficiency models.

  • In-Home Energy Assessments - PECO's energy efficiency professionals will visit a customer's home and check the condition of its insulation, HVAC system, lighting, appliances and more to identify simple ways to help save energy and money. These assessments are available at no cost for income eligible customers.

  • ENERGY STAR® Rebates are available for washers, dryers, air conditioners, water heaters, smart thermostats, electric heat pumps, and other home appliances.

  • Customers can also explore PECO Marketplace for instant online savings available exclusively to PECO customers.

PECO has received national recognition for the significant impact these programs are having in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and providing significant energy bill savings for customers. The company was honored with the 2024 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year: Sustained Excellence Award for Energy Efficiency Program Delivery award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This is the seventh consecutive year PECO has received this recognition.
