Charlton campus: Temporary changes to hospital access from November 3–17

Charlton campus: Temporary changes to hospital access from November 3-17

From November 3 to 17, patients and visitors may need to use alternate entrances and routes at the Charlton campus due to a temporary hallway closure while construction is underway to improve emergency psychiatric services.

What you need to know

  • The emergency department (ED) entrance will remain open 24/7 for patients requiring emergency care.
  • The usual public route between the ED entrance and the main hospital will be unavailable during the closure.
  • Visitors arriving after 6 p.m. and patients attending after-hours appointments must use the Mary Grace main entrance off Charlton Avenue and buzz for entry.
  • If you need to use the Luke wing elevators, please enter the hospital through the Mary Grace main entrance off Charlton Avenue.

How this may affect your visit

  • You may need to use a different entrance or route than you normally would.
  • Patients requiring access back into the ED from the main hospital (after leaving for a short period) will have access to an intercom system at the Luke hallway doors.
  • Signage will be posted for instructions.
  • Travel within the hospital may take longer than usual.
  • Additional wayfinding signage and staff support will be available to help direct you.

Please allow extra time for your visit and plan your route before arriving on site.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while this work is completed.
