Chinese Ambassador to Slovenia Kang Yan Addresses the Spring Festival Reception Co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Berlin and the Chamber of Commerce and[...]

On 3 March 2026, Ambassador Kang Yan of the People's Republic of China to Slovenia attended and addressed the 2026 Ljubljana Spring Festival Reception co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Berlin and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. Attendees included Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Boštjančič, Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Majelič, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Berlin Huang Wenzhong, alongside over 100 guests from Slovenian government departments and the business community.

In her address, Ambassador Kang highlighted Hong Kong's development achievements in recent years and the positive progress in economic and trade exchanges between Slovenia and Hong Kong. She expressed optimism about Hong Kong's development prospects of governing, stability and prosperity, and encouraged friends from various sectors to seize opportunities and forge ahead in the inaugural year of China's 15th Five-Year Plan, striving for greater achievements in the Year of the Horse, which symbolizes enterprise and progress.

Deputy Prime Minister Boštjančič and other guests spoke highly of Hong Kong's strategic role as an international financial hub and a key gateway for China's opening-up. They expressed hope to strengthen cooperation with Hong Kong in areas such as finance, science and innovation and other fields, maintain a stable and enduring partnership, and pursue mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.
