Alex Chiarella Secures Victory At Maui Open With Final-Hole Eagle
Wailuku, Maui (September 15, 2026) - Professional Alex Chiarella clinched his fourth Maui Open title on Sunday, September 13 at The King Kamehameha Golf Club, overcoming a tie with rising amateur star Robert Loree by sinking an eagle on the 18th hole.
Facing a 12-foot eagle putt on the par-5 18th, Chiarella's made the pressure-packed putt to secure a one-stroke victory with a two-day total of 137 (-7). Loree, who had earlier posted a birdie on 18 to reach 138 (-6), was left to watch as Chiarella's putt sealed the win. The dramatic finish underscored Chiarella's resilience and skill, particularly under pressure. His performance not only earned him the historic $10,000 winner's check but also added another prestigious trophy to his collection.
Maui Open Board of Directors Chairman Mike Morris praised Chiarella's achievement, stating, "Alex's performance exemplifies the spirit and competitiveness of the Maui Open. His victory is a testament to his dedication and skill."
