Rep. Barhorst Urges Ohio State Board of Trustees to Consider Jim Tressel for President

COLUMBUS, OH - State Representative Tim Barhorst (R-Fort Loramie) this week sen a letter to the Ohio State University Board of Trustees encouraging them to give full and fair consideration to Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel as they select the next president of The Ohio State University.

Rep. Barhorst, joined by several members of the Ohio House of Representatives, highlighted Tressel's extensive leadership experience in higher education and public service. Tressel previously served as president of Youngstown State University and as head football coach at The Ohio State University, providing him with a strong understanding of the University's culture and mission.

In the letter, lawmakers also pointed to Tressel's experience as Ohio's Lieutenant Governor, where he has focused on education, workforce development, and strengthening opportunities for Ohioans.

"It is time for a true Ohioan & Buckeye to lead," said Rep. Barhorst.
