On June 2, within the framework of the 5th Ministerial Conference on Feminist Foreign Policy, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Robert Abisoghomonyan had a meeting with Diego Martínez Belío, the State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain.
The interlocutors commended current cooperation between Armenia and Spain within multilateral platforms and international organizations and deliberated upon the prospects of deepening cooperation on issues of mutual interest. An exchange of views took place on the ongoing processes within the framework of the UN80 reforms.
During the meeting, issues of regional security were touched upon. Deputy Foreign Minister Robert Abisoghomonyan briefed his counterpart on the recent developments in the South Caucasus, including the initialing of the interstate agreement on the TRIPP project, emphasizing the importance of further institutionalizing the established peace.
The Deputy Minister also touched upon the preparatory work in the lead-up to the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity to be convened in Yerevan this year. The parties underscored the importance of high-level participation in the Leaders' Summit preceding the Conference, aimed at adequately addressing challenges related to biodiversity.
The interlocutors discussed a range of issues on the bilateral agenda and touched upon the strategic agenda of Armenia-European Union relations, emphasizing the vital importance of its consistent advancement.
