NEWS: Schiff, Padilla Welcome Los Angeles Dodgers to Celebrate Back-to-Back World Series Titles

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla (both D-Calif.) hosted players, coaches, and executives from the Los Angeles Dodgers organization at the United States Capitol to celebrate the Dodgers' 2025 Major League Baseball World Series championship.

"From the first pitch of spring to that final out in October, the Dodgers once again made us believe. And it wasn't just this season, it was also the one before that, they are champions in every sense of the word. To the players, coaches and staff, thank you for another victory we will never forget," said Senator Schiff.

"For nearly seventy years, the Dodgers have made Los Angeles proud, and their back-to-back World Series Championships have only reaffirmed their remarkable legacy," said Senator Padilla. "I've been rooting for the Dodgers for as long as I can remember, and it was a privilege to welcome them back to the Capitol today to celebrate their back-to-back championships. Their hard work and diverse talent continue to inspire us all, and I hope to celebrate them again next year."

The Dodgers' victory in Game 7 of the World Series marked the ninth World Series championship for the Dodgers franchise and their eighth title since moving from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in 1958. The team won their 12th National League West Division title in the last 13 seasons before defeating the Cincinnati Reds, Philadelphia Phillies, Milwaukee Brewers, and Toronto Blue Jays en route to their World Series title.

Last year, the Senate unanimously passed Schiff and Padilla's resolution congratulating the Los Angeles Dodgers on their World Series victory, becoming the first team in 25 years to earn back-to-back World Series titles with one of the most diverse rosters in Major League Baseball. The resolution celebrated the dedication and teamwork of the entire Dodgers roster and staff who made their comeback Game 7 World Series victory possible. The Senators also hosted the Dodgers at the U.S. Capitol after their 2024 World Series win.
