City offices closed Jan. 19 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day; City Council meeting scheduled for Jan. 20

The City of Columbia offices will close its administrative offices on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. City Council will hold its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 20, instead of Monday due to the holiday.

Additionally, the holiday will impact several City services.

Solid Waste

Residential curbside trash will not be collected on the observed holiday and will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

  • Residents can download the COMO Recycle and Trash App for collection day reminders and service notifications.
  • Residents should direct questions concerning the collection schedule to the Contact Center at 573.874.CITY (2489).
  • The City will also close its Sanitary Landfill on Jan. 19.

Transportation and Parking

  • Go COMO, Columbia's public transit system, will not operate.
  • Public Works will suspend parking enforcement on Jan. 19.

Parks and Recreation

The City's Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) will operate at normal hours on Monday, 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
