(DENVER) - The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE), in partnership with Workforce Colorado, is strengthening Colorado's workforce by connecting businesses and young adults (ages 16-24) through the Governor's Summer Job Hunt (GSJH), a statewide initiative designed to support career exploration, build skills, and strengthen Colorado's future workforce.
As the school year comes to a close, young adults across Colorado are entering the workforce and actively seeking opportunities to gain experience, earn income, and begin building long-term careers. GSJH provides a free referral service that connects young adults with employers across a wide range of industries, helping meet both short-term hiring demands and long-term workforce needs.
"Finding your first summer job can be hard. Whether you're looking for the first time or exploring future career options, our Governor's Summer Job Hunt can help you find a good job to get hands-on experience and earn money. The summer job hunt brings together employers and young Coloradans looking to fill in-demand jobs, strengthen our workforce, and support young people and our economy," said Governor Polis.
All young adults ages 16-24 are eligible to participate in GSJH. Through Workforce Colorado's network of workforce centers, participants can connect with career coaches for personalized job search support, resume assistance, and direct referrals to local job opportunities.
"Connecting young adults with meaningful employment opportunities is critical to Colorado's workforce and economic future," said Joe Barela, Executive Director of CDLE. "Through the Governor's Summer Job Hunt program, we are helping businesses meet their workforce needs while creating opportunities for individuals to gain valuable experience and build lasting careers."
