Saudi Arabia’s Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University has been evaluated by WHO as a Healthy University for the second time

26 July 2026, Cairo, Egypt - The World Health Organization (WHO) has redesignated Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as a Healthy University.

The re-award followed a formal evaluation confirming the University's continued fulfillment of 101 WHO standards covering 6 core domains - public policies, campus environment, healthy lifestyles, health promotion, safety and emergency preparedness and community engagement and sustainability. The new certification is valid until 31 January 2028.

Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University was first designated as a Healthy University in 2021, becoming the first university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab region to receive this recognition.

The re-award reflects the University's sustained commitment to integrating health promotion into institutional policies and campus life, supporting the health and well-being of the University community and contributing to the development of a healthy and sustainable university environment in alignment with WHO frameworks and global best practices.
