WVU president to attend Buckwheat Festival for first time during Preston County leg of ‘Welcome Home Tour’

WVU President Michael T. Benson will embark on the next leg of his "Welcome Home Tour" Friday (Sept. 26) in Preston County with stops at Arthurdale Heritage and the Buckwheat Festival in Kingwood. Benson will visit Preston County as part of his inaugural "Welcome Home Tour," which is taking him to communities across the Mountain State. WHO: President Benson, University alumni and supporters, and local and community leaders WHEN: Friday, Sept. 26 • Tour of Arthurdale Heritage18 Q Road, Arthurdale8:30-9:30 a.m.• Visit to Buckwheat Festival115 Brown Ave., Kingwood10 a.m. to noon Members of the media and the public are invited to join President Benson during his time in Preston County. NOTES: Once he visits Preston County, President Benson will have traveled to 28 West Virginia counties in the 10 weeks since he officially became the University's 27th president. His goal is to get to all 55 counties by next summer. More information about future tour dates will be released as details are finalized.
