At this year's Caravan Salon Düsseldorf, Mercedes-Benz is presenting new products and a piece of automotive history: the Benz Patent-Motorwagen. As the world's first petrol-powered automobile, it stands for 140 years of brand history, during which Mercedes-Benz has inspired generations and shaped mobility through numerous innovations. Among the new products that trade fair visitors can experience at the Mercedes-Benz stand in Hall 17 are the new Marco Polo and the new Marco Polo HORIZON. Both models are celebrating their trade fair debut and feature new, smart functions for even greater comfort. Mercedes-Benz is also announcing that its proven Torque-on-Demand all-wheel-drive system in the Sprinter will be made available for fully integrated motorhomes - a market first. A prototype is already on display, with KABE showcasing it on its stand in Hall 6. Rhön Camp, LAIKA, Offtrack, AllRoad, Captain Camper and ATLANTIS are also presenting new motorhomes based on the Sprinter at their respective trade fair stands.¹

The new Marco Polo and Marco Polo HORIZON celebrate their trade fair debut

In future, the Marco Polo and Marco Polo HORIZON will be manufactured entirely in-house for the first time. This will provide greater flexibility in responding to strong customer demand. At the same time, the models will offer new, smart features for even greater comfort. These include enhancements in space, the lighting and blackout concept, as well as acoustics and connectivity.

Mercedes-Benz announces proven Torque-on-Demand all-wheel-drive system in the Sprinter for fully integrated motorhomes; first prototype from KABE on site

The Sprinter has always impressed with its qualities as an ideal base vehicle for the motorhome use case. Last year, one in ten Sprinter vehicles worldwide went to a motorhome customer. Mercedes-Benz is now taking the next step and is introducing its proven Torque-on-Demand all-wheel-drive system for fully integrated motorhomes - a market first.

The Torque-on-Demand all-wheel-drive system distributes drive power automatically - depending on the situation and within milliseconds - between the front and rear axles. The driver does not need to activate anything manually; the system takes care of it. This makes entry into the 4x4 world significantly easier and increases comfort. At the same time, it can enhance driving safety, particularly in changing grip conditions in snow or on rough roads.

KABE from Sweden is presenting the first prototype of a fully integrated motorhome based on a Sprinter 4x4 at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf: the KABE Imperial Ri830 TRAQ 4x4. In addition to high-quality insulation, it features a sleeping area with two beds, a kitchen/dining area, a bathroom and a large garage suitable, for example, for ski equipment when winter camping. In future, it will be available on request with an additional off-road package.¹

Further new motorhomes based on the Sprinter on display at the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf include, among others, Core from Rhön Camp, Kreos H 5109 from LAIKA, Verge from Offtrack, TAKLAMAKAN 4x4 XL from AllRoad, HISPANIOLA from Captain Camper and Carbon 4x4 from ATLANTIS.¹
