Rescission of Boil Water Notice - Between SE Fifth Street and SE 12th Street, East of SE 17th Avenue and West of SE 22nd Avenue

OCALA, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2026) - The City of Ocala Water Resources Department has rescinded a Florida Department of Health-required boil water notice affecting customers located between SE Fifth Street and SE 12th Street, East of SE 17th Avenue and West of SE 22nd Avenue due to a water main break.

The original notice was released on Friday, Jan. 30, due to possible contamination of drinking water from a main water break. The City of Ocala Water Resources Department advises that the water is now safe to drink, cook with and conduct all normal daily activities. The lines in the affected area were flushed, and several samples were collected. Tests show that the water has had no signs of bacteria for two consecutive days, and the chlorine residual meets regulatory standards.
