Gwynn Avenue to Close Between MacArthur Highway and McReynolds Court on Oct. 27

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 27, W. John Gwynn Jr. Avenue will close to all traffic between N. MacArthur Highway and N. McReynolds Court. The closure is necessary for the MacArthur Highway - MacArthur Bridge to Howett Street - Rehabilitation Project and is expected to last for three weeks, weather permitting.

As a reminder, N. MacArthur Highway is also closed between W. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and W. John Gwynee Jr. Avenue.

Drivers should utilize all marked detour routes. Drivers should use caution in the area and be mindful of these closures. The use of alternative routes is advised.

Detour Route

  • Southbound through traffic on N. MacArthur Highway should utilize Main Street to S.W. Monroe Street to W. Romeo B. Garrett Avenue to N. Richard Pryor Place to Jefferson Avenue.
  • Northbound through traffic on N. MacArthur Highway should utilize Hurlburt Street to N. Richard Pryor Place to W. Romeo B. Garrett Avenue to S.W. Monroe Street to Main Street.
