Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji Wang Yuan Pays Courtesy Call on Minister for Information, Environment and Climate Change

On May 27, Wang Yuan, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy in Fiji, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Lynda Tabuya, Minister for Information, Environment and Climate Change of Fiji. The two sides exchanged views on practical cooperation on climate change.

Wang Yuan congratulated Hon. Lynda Tabuya on her new appointment and stated that China stands ready to continue helping Pacific Island countries enhance their capacity to address climate change, and work together to build an even closer China-Pacific Island countries community with a shared future.

Hon. Lynda Tabuya noted that Fiji cherishes the friendly relations with China over the past five decades since the two countries established diplomatic ties, reaffirms the Fijian government's firm commitment to the one-China principle, and looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with China.
