City and Community Partners Celebrate the Completion of The Grand and The Glen with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremonies

The City joined Pivotal Housing Partners, community leaders and residents to celebrate The Glen and The Grand with ribbon-cutting ceremonies marking the opening of two affordable workforce housing developments that represent nearly $30 million in investment and expand access to quality, attainable housing for Toledo residents.

"The completion of The Grand and The Glen represents another major investment in Toledo's neighborhoods. Affordable, accessible housing is one of the greatest needs facing communities across the country, and today we're celebrating real progress. These developments are turning underutilized properties into quality, affordable homes, giving more families the opportunity to put down roots while helping build stronger neighborhoods across our city," Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said.

The event began at The Glen, located at 3440 Glendale Ave., where project partners gathered for remarks and a ribbon-cutting ceremony before continuing the celebration at The Grand.

Together, The Grand and The Glen create new housing opportunities for working families and individuals while contributing to the continued revitalization of the Englewood Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area.

Located on the former Driggs Dairy site, The Grand transformed a previously underutilized property into a vibrant residential community offering three- and four-bedroom townhomes designed for low-to-moderate-income households. The development provides modern, energy-efficient homes with accessibility features that support long-term community stability. The project serves households earning between 50% and 70% of the Area Median Income (AMI), creating workforce housing opportunities for families seeking quality housing at attainable rents.

Developed on a 3.66-acre portion of the Southland Shopping Center property, The Glen demonstrates an innovative approach to repurposing underutilized retail space to address housing needs. The community offers a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, providing housing options for a wide variety of residents and families. Like The Grand, The Glen serves households earning between 50% and 70% of AMI and includes amenities designed to foster community engagement and resident well-being.

Both communities feature on-site management, a fitness center, playground, pavilion, computer and printer stations, and community gathering spaces that encourage resident connection and support.

The developments were made possible through a collaborative partnership among the City of Toledo, Pivotal Housing Partners, Pathway Toledo, state and federal housing programs, and numerous community stakeholders committed to expanding affordable housing opportunities throughout the region.

The completion of The Grand and The Glen marks an important milestone in Toledo's ongoing efforts to expand housing opportunities, strengthen neighborhoods and invest in the future of the community.
