REVISED: Lane & ramp closures along I-29 in Clay/Platte for guardrail operations, NOW - April 31

CLAY AND PLATTE COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation will be performing guardrail replacement resulting in various traffic modifications, on Interstate 29 from just south of Mexico City Ave. to U.S. 69. This project will take place over the winter months and motorists may experience delays through April 31. Traffic impacts will be shared as work is scheduled. Lane closures may vary between nights. All work is weather permitting.

The following locations will experience intermittent lane and ramp closures NOW - April 31, Sun. - Sat.

  • Overnight intermittent ramp closures for guardrail replacement on NB/SB I-29 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM:
    • EB US-152 to SB I-29 ramp CLOSED, Tue. Apr. 21
    • SB US-169 to SB I-29 on-ramp CLOSED, Wed., Apr. 22 to Fri., Apr. 24
    • SB I-29 to SB US-169 exit ramp CLOSED, Fri., Apr. 24 to Sat., Apr. 25
  • Overnight intermittent lane closures for guardrail replacement on NB I-29 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM:
    • SB/NB I-29 from Mexico City Ave. to NE 112th St., Mon., Apr. 27 to Tues., Apr. 28
  • Overnight intermittent lane closures for asphalt paving on SB I-29 7:00 PM until 6:00 AM:
    • Up to two lane closures between Mexico City Ave. and US-152. Intermittent temporary ramp closures as needed for next two weeks., Starting Sun., Apr. 19.
    • EB Cookingham Dr. to SB I-29 ramp CLOSED from 12:00am to 4:00am, Wed., Apr. 22

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris form the roadway.
