NEW: A Stronger New Mexico Ad Calls Out Gregg Hull for Being a Rubber Stamp for Trump
A Stronger New Mexico, a group backed by the Democratic Governors Association, is releasing its first ad in the New Mexico governor's race, calling out Gregg Hull for being a rubber stamp for Trump.
When Trump held a rally in New Mexico, Hull "roll[ed] out the red carpet for him" and made taxpayers foot the $240,000 bill. Hull has even followed Trump's lead to push for more data centers in New Mexico despite how they raise utility costs, and is in lockstep with Trump when it comes to making deep cuts to Medicaid and Medicare that would close hospitals and drive up health care costs.
Transcript:
When Donald Trump held a campaign rally here, local mayor Greg Hull rolled out the red carpet for him and stuck taxpayers with a bill for $240,000.
As governor, Hull would follow Trump's lead, making deeper cuts to Medicaid, forcing local hospitals to close, driving up costs even more.
Hull called a Trump endorsement "a pretty cool thing," but the job is governor, not rubber stamp.
