Purdue University Fort Wayne's popular Omnibus Speaker Series will kick off the 2025-26 season on Oct. 7 with Republican political influencer Karl Rove. Rove served as senior advisor to President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2007 and was the architect of Bush's 2000 and 2004 presidential election victories. He will step onto the Auer Performance Hall stage at 7:30 p.m. to present "America's Challenges Amidst its Broken Politics."

Tickets will be released today at 1:30 p.m. They are free, general admission, and available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Schatzlein Box Office or PFW's online ticketing platform.

For added peace of mind, all those attending the presentation will participate in safety and security measures consistent with many major events across the country. No book bags, backpacks, or gym bags will be permitted in the Music Center on the night of the event. Purses may also be subject to search by security personnel. Additional safety and security steps could be added prior to the event, at the discretion of the university.

Doors to the Music Center will open at 6:45 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to allow plenty of time to find free parking in garage P3 and make their way through the security zone.

A $1.50 convenience charge is assessed per ticket for online orders, with a limit of four tickets per person. Anyone wanting to get tickets to the show in person may visit the box office Tuesday through Friday from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Reserved online tickets can be sent to patrons via text message or email. These digital options are helpful to avoid standing at the box office the night of the show. Tickets can also be picked up in person beginning one hour before the presentation.

Before his stint in the White House, Rove ran a Texas-based public affairs firm that consulted on over 75 GOP campaigns for senator, governor, congress, and statewide offices in 24 states.

Rove writes a weekly op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, appears frequently on Fox News, and is the author of The New York Times bestseller "Courage and Consequence." His latest book is "The Triumph of William McKinley."

A Colorado native, Rove lives in Austin, Texas, where he teaches at the University of Texas and serves on the Texas State History Museum and McDonald Observatory boards.

The Omnibus Speaker Series at Purdue Fort Wayne is made possible in part due to the support of the English-Bonter-Mitchell Foundation, which has sponsored all 30 seasons.
