Mount St. Joseph University's Department of Creative Arts is pleased to announce Faces of the Future, a new painting exhibition by Associate Professor of Art & Design Kurt Grannan, on display November 13-December 9, 2026, with an opening reception on November 15, from 2-4 p.m., at Studio San Giuseppe (SSG) Art Gallery.
Faces of the Future celebrates the individuals who shape the everyday life of Mount St. Joseph University. Through a series of compelling portraits, Grannan honors the faculty and staff whose dedication, care, and contributions sustain the University's mission.
The exhibition presents portraiture in an unexpected way, exploring the quiet significance of presence, routine, and the rhythms of daily work. By focusing on individuals whose contributions may often go unnoticed, Grannan encourages viewers to recognize the people who are essential to the University's identity and future.
In many ways, Grannan follows in the footsteps of Sister Augusta Zimmer, SC, whose artistic legacy at Mount St. Joseph University reflects a commitment to finding beauty, dignity, and meaning in the often-overlooked aspects of everyday life. Like Sister Augusta Zimmer, SC, Grannan uses art to elevate the unseen, bringing attention to individuals and experiences that might otherwise remain unnoticed. Through his contemporary approach to portraiture, he continues a tradition of using creative expression to honor the human spirit, the mission of the university, and celebrate the value of every individual.
An accomplished artist, graphic designer, and educator, Grannan brings more than 20 years of professional design experience to his teaching and artistic practice. His work has been exhibited nationally, and he serves on the Executive Board of Directors of the Cincinnati Art Club.
Faces of the Future offers students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Greater Cincinnati community an opportunity to experience the Mount through the eyes of an artist who recognizes that the University's greatest strength lies in the people who contribute to its daily life.
