Of these, Semen Baturaja provided special support in the form of assistance for the construction of three houses in Martapura Hamlet, East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, South Sumatra.
The Commander of the II/Sriwijaya Military District, Major General Ujang Darwis, expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in this program.
"We officially inaugurate the use of 60 uninhabitable houses in the East OKU and South OKU regions. Thank God, with the assistance of the regents, Semen Baturaja, and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), we can repair our residents' uninhabitable houses to make them habitable," said the Regional Military Commander.
He added that this program is also part of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) Anniversary celebrations. "This is a series of activities to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the TNI, which will fall on October 5, 2025," he added.
SMBR President Director, Suherman Yahya, stated that the company's support for this house rehabilitation program is a concrete manifestation of SMBR's social concern for the surrounding community.
"Semen Baturaja is always committed to being present and providing benefits to the community, not only through products, but also through social programs that have a direct impact. Our support in the construction of these habitable houses is expected to help improve the quality of life for residents, while strengthening the synergy between the company, the TNI, and the local government," said Suherman.
Previously, on September 3, 2025, SMBR handed over the keys to a new house to one of the beneficiaries in Martapura Hamlet, East OKU, Mr. Nurmufid (60). He expressed his gratitude and emotion upon receiving his new home.
"I am very grateful to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and Semen Baturaja. My old house was in a fragile condition and often leaked when it rained. Now, thank God, my family and I can live in a more decent and comfortable home. This means a lot to us," he said.
Through this support, Semen Baturaja hopes that the beneficiaries will have more decent and comfortable housing, while also being part of a joint effort to improve the welfare of the people in South Sumatra and the surrounding areas. (*)
