Public Review Period Now Open on Proposed Program Comment for Army Warfighting Readiness and Associated Infrastructure

On December 18, 2026, the ACHP received a request from the Department of Army (Army) for a Program Comment to address the Army's warfighting readiness activities and its associated infrastructure. Read the proposed Program Comment for Army Warfighting Readiness and Associated Infrastructure .

A Program Comment is an alternative process the Army may use to comply with the requirements of Section 106 of the NHPA. The Army's intent in requesting this Program Comment is to establish a programmatic approach for complying with Section 106 regarding its undertakings related to warfighting readiness activities, which include military training, testing, equipping, and industrial activities, and management actions occurring on the associated infrastructure. The ACHP must make a decision on this Program Comment by February 17, 2026.

Those interested in commenting on the proposed Program Comment may do so by filing their comments so they are received by the ACHP on or before Monday, January 26, 2026. The ACHP will consider these comments as it works to respond to the Army's request in accordance with the provisions of 36 CFR § 800.14(e). The comments must be sent by e-mail to [email protected].
