Klipsun Magazine, Western's award-winning independent student feature magazine, released their latest issue on April 8. This Spring issue follows the theme "Language." A release party was held April 7 at Make.Shift Art Space downtown. Writers, editors and friends gathered to celebrate and complete the crossword.
Sophie Cadran, the editor-in-chief of "Language" described her time both writing and editing for Klipsun as overwhelmingly positive, teaching her how to become both a stronger feature writer and leader.
"Now more than ever, local newsrooms matter," Cadran said. "As the next generation of journalists, my peers and I have the opportunity through Klipsun to help uphold a key pillar of democracy."
George Cox, a current writer at Klipsun, noted that "Language" is his favorite recent issue of Klipsun. He commended the theme organization and overall design.
Cadran added that this issue of Klipsun is so strong because of the collective effort from writers, editors, designers and illustrators.
"Getting to work alongside so many talented students has been incredibly fulfilling," she said.
