Metro to host emergency exercise at Eisenhower office building in Alexandria

For immediate release: December 4, 2025

Metro's Integrated Command and Communications Center (MICC) in coordination with the Metro Transit Police Department will be conducting an emergency response exercise on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Eisenhower office building located at 2401 Mill Rd. in Alexandria.

The exercise is designed to simulate a real emergency. People in the area may notice an increased number of emergency vehicles responding to the building. Please be advised this is just a drill.

First responders and Metro staff will test their ability in a rapid response involving an improvised explosive device. The exercise will evaluate response coordination and communication between on-scene responders, Metrorail operations staff, Metro Transit Police, and support personnel.

There will be no impact to rail or bus service during the exercise.
