Ohio House Passes Bill to Support Local Farmers & Maintain Public Safety

COLUMBUS-State Representative Levi Dean (R-Xenia) is pleased to announce that the Ohio House of Representatives yesterday unanimously passed House Bill 630, legislation to update requirements regarding police escorts for agricultural vehicles.

Under the legislation, championed by Dean, agricultural vehicles and farm equipment traveling less than 10 miles and not using interstate highways will no longer be required to have a police escort, improving efficiency for farmers while allowing law enforcement resources to be allocated more appropriately.

"I am excited to see House Bill 630 pass a house floor vote at session yesterday afternoon with bipartisan support and take one step closer to enrollment," said Dean. "This bill will allow for safer, more efficient transportation of farm equipment and better allocation of law enforcement resources."

House Bill 630 awaits further consideration from the Ohio Senate.
